Clearsite Solutions’ team has worked with Glentham Life Sciences - based in Corsham - on several occasions, and they’ve become a highly valued client. On a recent project, GLS requested assistance with breaking down, dismantling and clearing out toilets and conveniences on-premises.
This project had a three-day deadline, which meant time management was imperative. Our team headed into the premises to remove block walls and dismantle sanitaryware. We also carefully cleared away a steel mezzanine staircase, which required multiple people to dismantle.
But, that’s not all - as this was more than just a clearout request! The Clearsite team, on request of GLS, formed a new door opening for staff to access in future.
This type of work would normally require a lintol and temporary support, however, we saved GLS money thanks to the type of floor directly above the opening. After an inspection above the ceiling, it was noted that the concrete floor above was not bearing on the wall in which we were forming a new doorway.
The concrete planks span the opposite way, and all of the load was on the external wall rather than the internal wall. Under instruction from the contractor, we cut the opening to full height and a false timber head was installed instead of any costly builders work.
GLS are always happy to work with Clearsite. They were immensely pleased with our timekeeping - we completed the project within two days - and our respect for the premises.
Glenthan Life Sciences hire us for soft strip and demolition work due to our commitment to professionalism, our communication, and our smooth handling - and we’ll always be happy to work with them again in future.
